With millions of people working from home due to the pandemic, it’s essential to have a steady internet connection. Therefore, it’s vital to invest in the latest telecommunications equipment to enhance productivity.

However, when it comes to telecommunications, there are a ton of questions clients have but often find answers difficult to come by.

So, Limitless Management Group wants to arm you with the most accurate information available to help you make informed decisions. To do this, we’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions about Verizon Fios.

1. What is Fios?
Fios is a 100% fiber-optic network that delivers data to a home more reliably and efficiently. The fiber-optic lines use fiberglass strands and light, which is how we can offer the fastest internet connection. Using our future proof technology results in more upload and download capabilities making it possible for your whole home to access the internet without losing out on speed and connectivity strength.

2. How does Fios compare to other internet providers?
The main thing that sets Fios apart from other providers is the use of a dedicated private fiber-optic line directly to each home. Compared to the copper loop system that most other providers have in place the fiberglass strands make it possible to transmit information at the speed of light. As well as offer a more reliable connection, due to the fiber being weather and critter proof as well as maintenance free. Having the dedicated line as opposed to the shared copper system allows for your connection speeds to stay strong and not fluctuate based off neighbors’ usage. Fios has been the most awarded network for internet speed satisfaction over the past ten years.

3. How is Verizon’s new in-home 5G different from Verizon Fios?
5G is wireless home internet on the cellular network powered by a 5G Ultra-Wideband, giving you the connection you need without the hassle of cables.

4. What is the installation process for Fios?
There are three different kinds of installations possible with Verizon.

The first type is underground installation, where the technicians offer a white-glove service and leave the yard precisely as they found it. The technicians use a trenching tool that pierces the ground to bury the fiber line, so no digging up of the yard is required.

The second type is aerial installation, where the technicians install the fiber optic line from a telephone pole to the side of your home.

For both types of installations an ONT box will get installed inside the house where the cables are connected. ONT stands for “Optical Network Terminal,” and it’s the box responsible for taking the fiber optic signals and translating them so the devices in the home can optimize them. Verizon offers flexible installs with weekday and weekend installs. We can work to your schedule and complete an installation within a two-hour arrival window. Evening installations are also available.

The final installation type is self-install, but not everyone is eligible for self-installation. It will be possible if the Verizon service was previously at the address, and an existing ONT box can still be used. It is simply a plug and play.

5. Any hidden fees and contracts?
Since lifestyles are constantly changing, and flexibility is essential, Verizon has updated its structure to a flat rate price and no contracts. The best part is that customers can change their service without paying fees. In addition, there are no promos that will expire after a few months of having the service, and as long as you keep the same package, the price will stay the same.

Also, Verizon does not keep you locked in, and there are no contracts to be signed to get a better deal. Verizon even offers a contract buyout option if you’re in a contract with your current provider, which gets you up to $500 credit to help cover the termination fee.
